There has been a certain stigma about purchasing Cheap Engagement Rings for many generations. Some say it shows a lack of commitment and decreases the formality of the agreement while others consider the ring to be nothing more then a material procession which shows no true value of the commitment. The well-known diamond mining, trading and manufacturing company, De Beers can be sourced as being originally responsible for the idea that a man should spend two months wage on an engagement ring through its ad campaigns in the 20th century to increase diamond purchases. At the end of the day, I personally believe that one should purchase an engagement ring suitable to the financial and personal situation of the couple. While the ring does formally represent the engagement, the ring itself does to affect the outcome of the engagement and should thus be treated as the material object it is.
