Whoever thought up the concept of Christmas in July, should be commended. I would be perfectly content to celebrate the Christmas holiday every day during the year, if it was possible. I have fond memories of the first time I excitedly gave my new husband Christmas morning wishes. It was snowing out and the Christmas tree shone bright with tinsel and white sparkling lights, illuminating the pure love in both our eyes. The brightly wrapped presents sat under the tree waiting to be opened. As the years have passed and we survived and endured, despite some difficult times along the way, I often think of those very first Christmas morning wishes for my loved one. Holidays have always remained a special time in our lives. We both are a little worse for wear, with gray hairs, a wrinkle or two and a few extra pounds around our middles, but when I look into my husband’s eyes, I still see that look of love I remember from our first Christmas spent together.
