I wanted to live in the country for years and finally I moved myself and three sons to a rural home on a big lot.  I wasted no time starting a garden and installing rain-collection systems.  As  we worked the boys asked why we needed to save rain when we could get water from the faucet.  I explained rain barrel uses such as watering plants, washing the car, or even,  cooling off on a hot day.  They began to get the idea and went online, where they were excited to find they were helping save natural resources, too.  By the time we were in our home a year, I’d converted my city boys into budding conservationists.
