Ultrasound therapy is used to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, relieve and reduce muscle spasms, speed up healing and increase range of motion to name a few. There is an ever expanding role for this equipment and the ultrasound technician who uses it in various settings.
Ultrasound can be used to target problems such as tendonitis, sports’ injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, neuralgia and fibromyalgia to name but a few.
More recently, ultrasound equipment can be purchased for home use. There are several manufacturers and a multitude of product lines available to be honed to individual needs. The equipment remains quite expensive but would pay for itself within a couple of years’ time. For some people, this would be worth the initial cost if only to reduce the number of trips they had to make to a hospital, doctor’s office and/or clinic.
